Job Description
As a Stock Controller / Junior Inventory Controller, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting supply chain operations. This entry-level position is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their career in inventory management.
- Bachelor of Commerce Supply Chain (BCOM) Degree (required).
- 2-3 years’ experience in a FMCG or Production environment (essential).
- Minimum 2-3 years in a stock controlling role (essential).
- Proficiency in SAGE Pastel (essential).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (essential).
- Grade 12 / Matric.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate stock levels across all inventory categories through regular cycle counts and system reconciliations.
- Maintain daily and weekly inventory reports, ensuring all data reflects physical stock accurately.
- Process stock adjustments, returns, and inter-branch transfers (IBTs) in SAGE Pastel.
- Work closely with the production, receiving, and dispatch teams to monitor material usage, variances, and inventory movement.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Support month-end processes including stock take coordination, variance reporting, and audit preparation.
- Monitor stock ageing and slow-moving items, proposing actions to optimize inventory levels.
- Enforce and uphold inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Provide regular feedback to Management
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Must be able to solve stock and system issues, root-cause analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure stock accuracy and process improvements.
